Comparative study of varroa treatments based on oxalic acid (Oxybee, Api-bioxal, Varromed) carried out by COAG Andalusia and Véto-pharma in Spain in 2021:
– Measurement of efficacy
– Toxicity: daily worker bee mortality
– Evolution of brood frames
– Evolution of frames covered with bees

Conclusions :
– Oxybee was very efficient in brood-free honeybee colonies without a significative negative impact on colonies
– Api-Bioxal and Varromed applications caused a detrimental effect on experimental colonies, with high losses of bees and brood
– Three applications of Varromed in the presence of capped brood is clearly insufficient to control varroa mite infestation efficiently
